PC vs Mac. It has been a long standing battle in the technology world. There are die hard supporters for the Mac computer and there are die hard fans of the PC computer. In fact, people are so loyal to their chosen style of computer that if and when someone does make a switch from a PC to a Mac, or vice versa, it is almost considered as if the person has sided with the enemy. With all this hoopla surrounding the PC and Mac battle, is there really a difference between the two types of computers?
The answer is yes. PCs and Macs each have unique advantages and disadvantages. Depending upon what you primarily use a computer for, you will most likely choose to go with a PC or a Mac as one may work better for your computer needs.
Here is a look at two of the differences between PCs and Macs.
Operating System
Mac computers run off a Mac operating system, while PCs can run off a wide variety of operating systems from Linux to Windows. It is believed that this difference in operating systems has an effect on the stability of the computer. Many PC computers are unstable due to the operating system not being manufactured by the makers of the computer. Mac computers are created and made by the same company that creates the operating system, so there is less of a stability issue.
Use of the Computer
Almost every computer need can be fulfilled by both the Mac and the PC. However, sometimes the PC or the Mac will offer better options, functions and programs that work better for one type of computer need. For example, Macs are traditionally used by those that work in the editing field such as photo editing, game creating and video editing, while PCs are used for a more personal nature such as home computing or office computing.
