iOS
The Apple iOS operating system is a widely used operating system for the iPhone and iPad tablet PC. This highly user-friendly operating system blasted the doors off of the mobile device operating system industry, ushering in the next wave of computing. The iOS is still among one of the top used operating systems for smart phones due to the immense popularity of the iPhone. With the innovation Apple brings to the table on an annual basis, it will probably stay prevalent within the industry for a while.
Windows Mobile
The Windows mobile operating system was a popular operating system for cell phones before the mainstream release of smart phones. This operating system which was specifically prevalent for Cricket Wireless devices, is a toned down version of the Windows PC operating system for cell phone users.
Android
The Android operating system was the competition’s reply to Apple’s dominance within the smart phone and tablet industry. Owned by Google, Android provides users with an alternative to the Apple iOS, opening the door to a barrage of alternative devices being introduced.
